GOODBYE TO YOU

About 8 years ago, we began building the music library and named our station KJRW.  Today, Radionomy silenced it.  We came very close to their listening requirements.  (Personally, we believe Radionomy did not record all of the time people spent with the station.  For example, our stats from Facebook show that over 2 thousand clicked a link from there during a period that Radionomy only shows about 1200 total did.)  More people have been listening to KJRW in the past month than ever.

KJRW has been heard in almost every continent on the globe over the past (almost) 8 years.  Thank you for listening in the U.S., Germany, Canada, France, Spain, Poland, Netherlands, U.K., Italy, Switzerland, Greece, Ireland, Austria, U.A.E., Australia, China, Norway, Hungary, Israel, Ecuador, Peru, Belgium, Sweden, Hong Kong, Guatemala, Mexico, Czech Republic, Thailand, Portugal, Vietnam, Cuba, Myanmar, Uruguay, Morocco, Singapore, Malaysia, French Polynesia, Kazakhstan, Costa Rica, Bulgaria, Estonia, Slovenia, Lithuania, Belarus, and Latvia.

Thanks for spending time with KJRW in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, North Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Maine, and Massachusetts.  A special shout out to David for sharing posts on Facebook, and for single-handedly making Wisconsin second in listening in the U.S.

We also thank all the voices of KJRW:  The Spinster, Matt, Anne, Blue, Nate, Love, Kevin, Madison, Travis, and Anna. Thanks to the indie bands and fans for sending us songs.  Thanks to Angie, Barry, Mike, Kelly, Luis, Rikki, Selene, and Elizabeth for your music and station i.d.'s. Thanks to Allyssa for drawing our mascot.

So long and thanks for all the fish!

WHAT'S GOING ON (at the End of July)

It's the last Monday of the month. That means KJRW provides the music round of the Shadowland Pub Quiz! Come Out and Play at the corner of California and Oregon in West Seattle at 8 p.m. Celebrate the last month of New Wave Summer by naming that New Wave tune in the audio round.

Yep, there's just one month left of New Wave Summer.  Get the T-shirt before it leaves the KJRW Corner Store.

And there are only two months left in our contract with Radionomy.  We're going to need a huge increase in listening to stay online past September.  So listen early and often!

Folks in the U.S., Germany, Canada, France, Spain, Poland, U.A.E., China, Italy, U.K., Greece, and Israel spent the most time with the station during the past month.

If everyone that checked out the station during the month of July had stuck around for at least an hour, KJRW's listening time would be at 100%.

Would you do that?  Spend just one hour a day with KJRW?

WHAT'S GOING ON (at the beginning of September)

The last days of New Wave Summer saw a big bump in audience size, about 46% higher than usual!

Listening the longest were people in the United States, Canada, Germany, Mexico, France, Spain, Italy, China, Ireland and Belgium.  Inside the U.S., KJRW is most popular in Seattle, Chicago, Detroit, New York, Orlando, Miami, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Don't be sad New Wave Summer is over because we just added 350 more Alternative and Punk Rock songs to the KJRW playlist!

All Request Fall has begun.  You say it, we play it.
Submit your song request any time.

Are you ready for the Summer? New Wave Summer rolls in later this month!

Last month, our rank held steady on Live365. KJRW remains in the top 25 rock stations on the site. (There are over 500 of them.)

The average time people spent listening to KJRW in May was a bit higher than in April. The United States still tops the list of listeners, with the most time spent with KJRW in:

People are rocking out to KJRW in other parts of the globe, such as:  Canada, China, Spain, Belarus, Germany, New Zealand, Peru, Hungary and France.

Your favorite songs in May were:

  1. We Are the One - Avengers
  2. Straight To Hell - Clash
  3. Lexicon Devil - Germs
  4. Seether - Veruca Salt
  5. Gone Daddy Gone - Violent Femmes
  6. Two of a Kind - Beat Dolls
  7. Everlong - Foo Fighters
  8. Hey Girl - Tacocat
  9. Self Esteem - Offspring
  10. Fall Behind Me - Donnas

We noticed Live365 added pop up ads to our station page that start playing randomly.  We are as annoyed by this as you are.  We clicked on "Feedback" and told them, and so should you.  Once again, KJRW receives NO MONEY from ADS, pop up or otherwise. Download the FREE Live365 app to listen to KJRW without the pop up ads chiming in at odd moments.
