Your favorite feature is back this weekend. Get Under the Covers with KJRW. It's the only time you will hear songs made famous by Nancy Sinatra, Sister Sledge, The Animals, Britney Spears, Prince, Pink Floyd, and John Lennon - because they're covered by Punk/Alternative artists. Listen this weekend!
There are less than 7 weeks until our day of reckoning with our web host, Radionomy. At the end of October, they will decide if KJRW has enough listening time to stay online. We are currently at 58% of the goal.
All Request Fall is underway. KJRW plays all your song suggestions. Comment with yours now.

OUT LIKE MARY'S LITTLE LAMB
KJRW just transitioned from being Under the Covers to having a Spring Fling. Listening time held steady in the month of March. If we stay at this level, Radionomy will allow us to add even more songs at the end of April. And we are itching to increase our total of tunes. KJRW is playing stuff you haven't heard in awhile to woo you into having a Spring Fling with us. You're gonna love it! Tell us what to play by commenting here, emailing, or posting to Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter.
Thanks for listening to KJRW in the U.S., Germany, France, Canada, Sweden, Spain, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, Australia, Greece, U.K., Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Italy, Israel, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Hungary.
We are currently at 40% of our listening goal which must be achieved by this fall in order to stay online. Click on KJRW April 1st to hear some foolish songs sprinkled into the playlist. It's part of our Spring Fling because we like like you.

IN LIKE A GOLD LION
Hello and welcome to March!
Taking a look at our first month back online, KJRW has a stronghold on North America and Europe. We have even infiltrated the Middle East and South America. Thanks for listening in the U.S., Germany, France, Austria, Canada, Guatemala, Ireland, Sweden, Spain, Romania, and the U.K.
We beat our listening goal by 30% in February! Keep listening because we are still 63% away from our ultimate listening goal, which we have to reach by the end of October.
Near the end of this month, we begin our Spring Fling. We will stretch our musical muscles this spring by adding songs you haven't heard lately. You can send your song requests to kjrwwestseattle@yahoo.com, post them on our Facebook page, or Tweet at us. While we're on the subject of social media, we just created an Instagram page.

UNDER THE COVERS
KJRW's first week back online was excellent. Our radio web host expects us to average 30 hours of listening a day when we reach the 3-month mark. We exceeded 30 hours every day! Our average was 50 hours.
However, Radionomy divided our time by 30 days instead of 7 and came up with an average of 17 hours a day. It was enough to get us on their radar, though. They decided we have enough listening to throw some ads onto KJRW. Don't worry, you will still never be more than 2 minutes away from more Alternative/Punk Rock on KJRW.
Thanks for listening in the U.S., Germany, France, Spain, Sweden, Romania, and Canada!
When can you hear songs made popular by Nancy Sinatra, Britney Spears, Gloria Gaynor, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Elvis Presley, Missy Elliott, Prince, Pink Floyd, and Fleetwood Mac on KJRW?
When those songs are covered by Alternative/Punk Rock bands. Get Under the Covers with KJRW all month long.

WHAT'S GOING ON (at the beginning of 2017)
Hello and welcome to 2017. Kinda funny how we just wrote last week about the semi-constant threat of deletion from Radionomy. They did just that 5 hours into the new year.
Thanks to Dan the Man at Birch Street Radio, we had a Plan B. When we thought Radionomy might remove KJRW in October, Dan suggested we copy our audio.
KJRW - West Seattle is back on as of tonight!
And KJRW provides the musical picture round at the Shadowland Pub Quiz Monday night!

WHAT's GOING ON (at the end of 2016)
A year ago, we found out KJRW was losing its home on Live365. We made the move to Radionomy in February. It gave us more space for more songs and slightly better sound quality. It allowed more people to listen to the station at the same time for free. And you listened longer than ever! However, it made it more difficult for you to give us feedback and rate the songs, so there is no Top 116 of 2016 song list to post or play.
We are under the semi-constant threat of deletion from Radionomy. There are listening hurdles we must jump every so often in order to stay online. We are at 57% of our current goal.
We hope to reach our listening goals to keep providing the most awesome alternative rock in the air from Punk to Grunge and beyond in 2017. Under the Covers continues all winter long. And we're working on something special for spring.
As long as you keep listening, KJRW will stay online.

WHAT'S GOING ON (in the beginning of March)
March has come in like a lion, with a bunch of technical difficulties from Radionomy. Songs were repeated over and over and there was dead air for many hours. It was as frustrating for us as it was to you, we are sure. It seems that we are back on course now. (We hope!)
KJRW's first month on Radionomy went pretty well. We uploaded close to 7 hundred songs by over a hundred different artists. Our audience grew steadily through February, as we lingered Under the Covers. Close to a thousand streams were launched. People spent almost 12 hundred hours listening in:

UNDERCOVER ANGEL
Songs by Nancy Sinatra, the Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Gloria Gaynor, Elvis Presley, the Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd playing on KJRW?? No, it's not April Fool's Day. It's Dive Under the Covers month. You will hear Gang Green take on 'Til Tuesday, Generation X do John Lennon and more all during January on KJRW.
Sometimes covers become more popular than the original versions of songs such as Santana's version of the Fleetwood Mac song "Black Magic Woman" or Jimi Hendrix's cover of Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower". Are the tunes KJRW is playing more popular than the originals? Probably not. But we think they sound cool.

COVER ME
Brrr. It's the middle of winter in this hemisphere. Time to dive under the covers. KJRW features cover versions of songs all next week. There will be a few Iggy tunes by other artists, lots of punked-up classic rock and even our favorite Prince song. It is kind of a tradition for punk artists to include a cover song on their albums. We hope you will enjoy Under the Covers Week on KJRW. And as always, your song suggestions are welcome at kjrw@comcast.net.
