A reason to listen every day in May.

Time spent listening in April fell to 28%.  Our hope was to achieve at least 57% to be on pace to reach 100% in 5 months.  People did spend over 11 hundred hours with KJRW in the U.S., Germany, Canada, France, Spain, Poland, Austria, and Italy.

It's still cold, cloudy, and rainy in Seattle, but New Wave Summer is right around the corner...

WHAT'S GOING ON (In the middle of April)

We enjoyed Pearl Jam Day so much at KJRW, that we have decided to feature a different artist every day in May!  Each day in May, one of our favorite bands will be showcased.  Get the May Artist of the Day Greeting Card at the KJRW Corner Store to follow along.

Unfortunately, listening time has declined quite a bit this past week or so.  We are currently at 30%.  It would be great if we could double that by the end of April to get back on track.

WHAT'S GOING ON (at the beginning of April)

We have not received the official word from Radionomy, but it looks like we have enough listening hours to stay online in April.  You checked us out over 16 hundred times in March, and spent over 19 hundred hours with KJRW.  That means we are about halfway to reaching our ultimate goal.  Thanks for listening in the U.S., Germany, Canada, France, Poland, Spain, United Kingdom, Belgium, Italy, and Switzerland.

Something funny is going on all day today on KJRW.  Listen for songs you will only hear on April 1st.

On April 7th, KJRW celebrates the induction of Pearl Jam into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  Pearl Jam songs every hour next Friday.

WHAT'S GOING ON (at the beginning of May)

KJRW is now enjoyed on almost every continent on the globe!  Tops in listening were:  the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, Hungary, Italy, Brazil, France, Belarus and the U.K. 

In fact, folks are spending the most time listening to KJRW than ever!  We met our goal for April with about 1700 hours.  We would like to see 2 thousand hours for the month of May.  Tomorrow is our program director's birthday.  A really wonderful birthday present would be the greatest listening time in the station's history.

WHAT'S GOING ON (at the beginning of April)

KJRW has been on Radionomy for 2 months, and today we got the thumbs up from them to keep going for another 6.  

During the first week of April, about 200 people checked out the station for almost 200 hours.  That's okay, but we can do better.  We'd like to see that number more than double in the next week.  Please spread the word that KJRW can now be heard on Radionomy.

WHAT'S GOING ON (at the beginning of May)

KJRW celebrated the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in April. More streams were launched than in March and February. There were the most visits to the station page since last June.
However, people spent slightly less time listening, so our rank dropped a bit. They were listening to KJRW the most in the U.S., Belarus, Spain, Canada, Hungary, New Zealand, Italy, Venezuela, Slovak Republic and Germany. Tops in listening inside the U.S. were:  Seattle, WA; San Francisco, CA; Philadelphia, PA; Denver, CO; New York and Albany, NY; El Paso, TX; Chicago, IL; Grand Rapids, MI and Atlanta, GA.

WHAT'S GOING ON (in the middle of April)

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction is this weekend.  KJRW is celebrating members all month long.  Listen for Lou Reed and the Velvet Underground.  The Velvets joined a few years back, and this year it's Lou's turn as a solo artist.  You will also hear David Bowie, The Ramones, Talking Heads, The Police, The Clash, Elvis Costello, The Pretenders, U2, Sex Pistols, Blondie, Patti Smith, R.E.M., The Stooges, Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Nirvana. On top of that are a couple more artists entering the hall this weekend:  Green Day and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.

April Fool's Day didn't drive folks away, even though it consisted mostly of 80's and 90's pop music. In fact, that day saw the most visits to the station page so far this month.

Now that we are midway through May, let's talk about April.  Ahhh April, when there was only one day without a deejay.  More people listened on this April Fool's Day than on any other we have endured on KJRW.  And it was all uphill from there!





The play button was pressed over 12 hundred times.  The KJRW page at Live365.com was visited over 2 thousand times.  People spent the most time listening since the station was created!  Consequently, KJRW achieved the highest rank among all the stations on Live365 ever!

IF APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS...

KJRW played the worst songs we have ever heard on April 1st.  Sure, it has become an April Fool's tradition to change format on KJRW, but I think we crossed a line.  Our rank fell to about where it was before March because people spent less time listening in April.  KJRW was made a preset station almost double the amount of times it was the previous month, though.  And there were almost 2 thousand visits to the station page on Live365.  Our big achievement in April was the most streams launched ever!

People were listening to the station in the U.S., Italy, Canada, Spain, U.K., Germany, Chile, Mexico, Slovak Republic and Bulgaria.

We know we are well into April, but will still take a look back at March.  The bad news was that KJRW was made a preset station the least number of times ever in a month.  However, the rest of the news is all good.  More streams were launched in March than February.  People spent more time listening to KJRW.  Our rank rose among not only the rock stations, but all the stations on Live365.  KJRW had the most visits to the station page since it was created in 2010 (well over 2 thousand in one month)!
