WHAT'S GOING ON (at the End of July)

It's the last Monday of the month. That means KJRW provides the music round of the Shadowland Pub Quiz! Come Out and Play at the corner of California and Oregon in West Seattle at 8 p.m. Celebrate the last month of New Wave Summer by naming that New Wave tune in the audio round.

Yep, there's just one month left of New Wave Summer.  Get the T-shirt before it leaves the KJRW Corner Store.

And there are only two months left in our contract with Radionomy.  We're going to need a huge increase in listening to stay online past September.  So listen early and often! 

Folks in the U.S., Germany, Canada, France, Spain, Poland, U.A.E., China, Italy, U.K., Greece, and Israel spent the most time with the station during the past month.

If everyone that checked out the station during the month of July had stuck around for at least an hour, KJRW's listening time would be at 100%.

Hello and welcome to 2017.  Kinda funny how we just wrote last week about the semi-constant threat of deletion from Radionomy.  They did just that 5 hours into the new year.

Thanks to Dan the Man at Birch Street Radio, we had a Plan B.  When we thought Radionomy might remove KJRW in October, Dan suggested we copy our audio.

NOBODY'S FOOL

Okay, so the Classic Rock was for April Fool's Day.  Those Classic Rock songs are good.  That's why they are classic.  But, you can turn on any number of stations to hear those songs.  The aim of KJRW is to play tunes you don't hear every day everywhere else.  It would be easier to play those songs that are just sitting there on the Live365 web site.  And it would be easier to do what I find many other Live365 stations doing - loading a bunch of songs and setting them on shuffle.  But I cannot.  I constantly add songs and handcraft lists so that they play in a particular order.  You won't hear the same artist after only hearing one or two songs from a different artist on KJRW.  I also announce which artists are coming up, so you will know what to listen for.  And I try to provide a little comic relief in between the songs.  I hope you like it and listen often.  We now return you to regular programming...

A CHANGE IS GONNA COME

We here at KJRW have been thinking, and after much contemplation, we have decided on a format change.  Sure, it is great to play songs you don't hear anywhere else, but it's a lot of work.  We're always searching for great new songs and old gems that need some dusting off.  Every day, we're adding songs we think you might like.  And now we're thinking that it would just be a whole lot easier to play Classic Rock.  These songs have been around for decades.  Some would even say they have "stood the test of time".  They are just sitting there on the Live365 web site.  No need for uploading any music.  Sure, you could turn on a radio station in any city and hear this stuff, but now you can hear it here, too.
